Farmers WIFE Advanced elaborates the scheduling capabilities of Farmers WIFE especially for long term project management and large media companies, by providing two independent timelines in one view, called 'Long Form' and 'Hourline'. This is designed for companies who need to plan large and complex projects; often over extended periods of time. Farmers WIFE Advanced expands the capabilities of Farmers WIFE by providing an innovative and totally flexible approach to advanced scheduling and supports object and booking dependencies and 'intelligent'options for resolving planning related problems.

With the same roots as Farmers WIFE, Farmers WIFE Advanced is designed with the needs of the post production, production, broadcast, rental and other media sectors in mind. Initially conceived and developed by creative and business minded professionals from the media industry, Farmers WIFE Advanced has matured into a multi-business management tool, carefully developed to address the challenging issues facing cost-conscious companies in the media industry. Farmers WIFE Advanced has the added advantage that it runs on both PC, Mac and also Linux (Server only) platforms simultaneously, satisfying the hardware configuration of most modern facilities.

In addition the External Access, Media Manager and Barn modules can be added on to Farmers WIFE Advanced to provide enterprise level functionality.

Users can enter bookings directly onto the Farmers WIFE Advanced ‘Timeline’ in both the 'Hourline' and 'Long Form' mode. This ‘drag-and-drop’ functionality allows users to rapidly add additional objects and resources to bookings, trim booking duration, change status and activity and link bookings to projects. Built in conflict pop-up warnings show details of any possible conflicts.

Time reporting and updating of bookings is an easy operation in Farmers WIFE Advanced, allowing users to record their actual time used against booked time and include any extra costs all on the fly with a simple mouse click.

'Binders' and 'Sub-Binders'can be defined for each Project allowing you to define stages within the project process. Create Bookings and add Objects to the bookings through simple drag-and-drop operations.

Objects and their accessories can be booked and the intuitive nature of Farmers WIFE Advanced allows you to display only available objects and define a preferred 'pick order'.

Dependencies allow you to define a series of Bookings and/or Binders that are dependent upon each other so one booking will not start before its preceding booking is completed.

A series of customisable templates can be set up for Projects which follow a common process with check points and 'Milestones'defined for each stage of the project, allowing you to see the status of each project at anytime.

The Personnel Manager module forms part of the Advanced bookings module, it allows you to efficiently simplify the often complex personnel scheduling tasks including rosters and shift management patterns. As well as this you can keep a track of outstanding holidays of staff and days in lieu amongst other personnel management needs.

Long term projects can be split for ongoing invoicing and containers allow multiple projects to be grouped together and viewed as a single entity.

   Contact Database

The ‘Contact Database’ provides a single reference for all your contact information. Clients, external suppliers, freelancers and other contact information can be defined and retrieved rapidly and used throughout Farmers WIFE Advanced. Depending on your needs, you can easily add ‘Custom Fields’ to store more information in the ‘Contact Database’. Through colour coding your clients, you can enhance the overview of your projects with a glance at the display.

Use the ‘Sync’ module to exchange (i.e. synchronise) data from Farmers WIFE Advanced with e.g. MS Outlook ® (or similar products installed on your computer) back and forth. This way you only have to keep one database manually up to date and automatically sync e.g. ‘Contacts’, ‘Events’ and ‘Todos’ with your locally installed e-mail/organiser application.

The ‘Media Library’ – part of Farmers WIFE Advanced add-on Media Manager - simplifies the often complex and unorganised aspects of media library management. It allows the definition of multiple libraries and the cataloguing of an unlimited number of media and associated entries (clips) as well as for tapes, the automatic generation of tape labels and built in barcode support.

   Dispatch

The ‘Dispatch’ module of Farmers WIFE Advanced ‘Media Manager’ is designed to streamline the movement of tapes, objects and other assets within your company. The ‘Dispatch’ module allows you to create your own despatch labels for objects. Client and courier information, which is retained in the ‘Contact’ database of Farmers WIFE Advanced, can be “tagged” to dispatch items with a simple mouse click. Dispatch notes can also be easily created and the cost of the whole operation can be added to a ‘Project’ if desired. Contents of a tape or a description of the objects being dispatched can additionally be attached to the dispatch note.

   Labour Rules Module

The Labour Rules Module is designed for companies that need to track the worked time, overtime compensation, earned vacation, etc. of their employees. The optional Labour Rules Module for Farmers WIFE Advanced takes over the chore to produce these numbers depending on the so called ‘Labour Rules’ applicable to each employee in combination with the corresponding bookings. The powerful Labour Rules engine was designed to not only be able to comply with complicated Union labour rules, but also allows you to add internal compensation rules to all or individual employees and create reports that can easily be customised to show the numbers you are interested in and hide others.*
