We are very pleased to announce that Farmers WIFE and Farmers WIFE Advanced 4.7 are now officially released.
Some of the new features in version 4.7:
From the heart of Farmers WIFE
Run Speed Tests directly from the Server application and see how well suited the surrounding hardware environment is for the system.
A new log file is automatically created once it reaches 5MB.
Various back end code optimizations will provide a 30% improved performance.
A series of new server settings now provides the financial base in Farmers WIFE and thus have been centralized on the Server application, under their own tab labeled: Financial.
A new cat in town
Farmers WIFE has added support for Mac OSX 10.5 “Leopard”.
Financial Reports – more flexibility
Even more flexibility has been extended to the report options in the Financial Reports Designer. Go granular by grouping by Containers, Unreferenced Invoices, Client Company, Binder Name, Sub Binder Name, Reference (From Object Class), Custom Fields from Objects and Custom Fields from Projects.No more scrolling through variables! The new folder structure lets you easily expand and minimize groups of variables in the designer itself making it easier to configure the reports you need.On the Server you now have the option to apply a dedicated Project View to all Projects, when generating reports, automating the process even further!
Vacation, anyone?
The personnel management tool has been outfitted with request capabilities. Only licensed users will be able to see the Personnel management, however now users can place requests.
Check it!
Sometimes it has to be written out. “Yes”, “No” or unchecked. We’ve added an additional custom field type - the Y/N Check Box. And for those times you just don’t know; not yet checked is the option for you!
Simplify and Restrict
Managing user settings as your company grows, is kept simple with the ´Force User Settings From File´. Administrators can easily setup and manage settings for several users within a designated group, at once.
Permission Profile Enhancements
Now control who can delete media, or access the Invoice Manager, who can create and/or delete Clients & Resources, who may access Toolbox settings, Long Form, and allow T/B Super Users to see rates of Resources.
Cancel Projects
We know how relevant it can be from a business perspective to track “the ones that got away”. By including the new “Cancel Projects” feature, we’re hoping to make your difficult times a little easier. Since pitched projects can lie dormant for quite some time, we’ve removed them from the “Active” status allowing you to separately track the “sleepers”; full history of contacts, dates and quotes intact. Once the pitch is awarded, simply reactivate the project and start scheduling!
XML
The XML option of the Media Library lets you export the media data collected in Farmers WIFE, directly from the Client Application, and make it accessible to other applications. No more double data entry.
Information to our customers: Before you upgrade to the new version please request a new 4.7 license from license@farmerswife.com. Detailed upgrade instructions together with the FTP details to download the right installers will be provided together with the new license.

5/30/2007: Farmers WIFE 4.6 released
After a very successful NAB show where we previewed version 4.6 we are pleased to inform you that it has been officially released today for both products Farmers WIFE and Farmers WIFE Advanced. One of the many new features is the now integrated Financial Reports Designer, which will replace the former Statistics module and will allow you to create financial reports directly from within the client application.
Before you upgrade to the new version please request a new 4.6 license from support@farmerswife.com. Detailed upgrade instructions will be provided together with the new license.

Mac and PC in good company, Farmers WIFE now supports Linux!
Making Farmers WIFE the first scheduling software available natively on three platforms, version 4.6 now takes on Linux as its newest addition. Known for its superior performance and stability, the Linux platform is recommended for large and/or multi-site facilities running the Farmers WIFE Server.
Integrated Financial Report Designer
Combining scheduling with cost tracking is what Farmers WIFE is about. Taking this one step further, your financial information is now made easily available through the Integrated Financial Report Designer.
Enhanced Advanced Project Search
The Advanced Project Search within Farmers WIFE has been improved to allow cross-referencing of booking, project, work order and media order data. Now also available for Farmers WIFE (Core)!
Open in Spreadsheet feature
Available throughout every search panes, this new feature allows you to export your search results to a spreadsheet application, where you can manipulate the data as needed.
Faster and improved MySQL support
Farmers WIFE offers the means to extract certain relevant data from its proprietary database format to MySQL, therefore making the integration to third party applications (usually of the financial kind) much easier. By implementing 'MyISAM' as the default table engine type used by Farmers WIFE, live facility tests show that the optimized MySQL full data dump is now up to 10 times faster.
Improved Archiving system
The new archiving system improves the workflow regarding archiving and replaces 'Freeze' functionality of the Server Setup, since it is now performed through the Client application.
Your database easily sent to Support through a simple mouse-click
The new 'Send Back Up Now' button in the Server window allows you to send your database last backup to Support (if the 'Mail Allow' option is properly configured) without having to close the Server anymore. On Servers running on Windows, the log.txt file will be also attached.
Virtual Bookings have more to offer
Added support to modify the Virtual Bookings and "Custom Fields" of the "Saved Quote" with the values of the current Project and vice versa.
Custom Fields at Invoice level
You can now create custom fields for your invoices in the Server, which can be matched with the custom fields in projects.
Farmers WIFE talks QuickBooks and DATEV

LDAP integration
Farmers WIFE can now authenticate any user of your computer network as part of a directory service through your local LDAP (Lightweight Directory Access Protocol) Server; even down to pre-defining the user permission levels and storing them as permission profiles within WIFE! Mallorca, February 21, 2006: The original creator of the Farmers WIFE product line, Mads Linden (Farmers Wife S.L), has acquired the operations of The electronic Farm USA, Inc. together with Mercedes Lopez, long time Product Integrator and Software Trainer at The electronic Farm.
Having been an integral part of implementing Farmers WIFE in over 160 facilities in 28 countries, the new owners have obtained all rights to the source code, the products as well as the Farmers WIFE brand.
"Maintaining a close relationship and a personal bond with our clients is what has always set us apart from our competitors; it is also what has allowed the Farmers WIFE product line to develop into what it is today.
